Pre-arrival support is the help IHH provides for people outside of Finland who are considering or planning a move to the Helsinki region. You can access pre-arrival support online from anywhere in the world.
There are multiple pre-arrival services that help newcomers in different ways. They explain the immigration process and the steps you’ll need to take before and after your arrival. They also introduce the different sides of life, work and family in the Helsinki region.
For most people, the best place to start is to join one of IHH’s regular Newcomer Information Sessions.
Your first step should be to attend a Newcomer Information Session. These helpful online webinars provide all the information you need and guide you on what to do next. You can also ask any questions you may have there.
Afterwards, you can use IHH’s other pre-arrival services for your more specific needs.
Pre-arrival support does not arrange employment, residence permits or other grounds for moving to Finland.
To use pre-arrival support, you should already have a valid basis for relocation to Finland, such as work, studies, or family ties, or be pursuing a valid basis independently.
