Are you looking to find a job, start a business, or grow your career in the Helsinki capital region?
International House Helsinki’s (IHH) Newcomer Information Sessions provide a wide range of information and support, whether you are already an entrepreneur or professional, or aspiring to become one.
Join our Newcomer Information Session about Working Life to learn the best practices and channels for job searching in the Helsinki capital region. Employees and teleworkers will also receive practical information about working life in the area. We will cover important topics such as earnings-related insurance, social security, unionisation, and career support for partners and spouses. You will also get an introduction to starting a business in the region.
The session will take place on 17 December at 9.00–10.45 EET.
Our Newcomer information sessions are designed for international newcomers who are moving or considering moving to the Helsinki capital region for work, business, or family.
Whether you’re new to the Helsinki capital region or simply want to learn more about life and work here, these useful guides will help you settle in and feel at home:

Once you have filled in and submitted the registration form, you will receive an email 1–2 days before the event with the link for joining the online session (Microsoft Teams).

Our online session will provide you with information on topics such as:

- Tips and strategies for job search
- Support and guidance services for jobseekers
- Employee rights
- Why join a trade union
- Earnings-related insurance system

- Services for entrepreneurs
- Career support for accompanying spouses
The sessions are held in English and take place online. The sessions are organised regularly, but the content varies. Feel free to participate in one or more, or only the parts that suit your needs.
Please note that International House Helsinki does not operate as an employment agency, so we do not offer job placement services.
