Please note that though the workshop is a Spouse Program event, everyone, including people who are not members, is welcome to join.
What is the workshop about?
This workshop will help you explore roles in the tech industry and identify practical steps to establish yourself in the field. It is open to everyone, not just software engineers, coders or those with a technical background. You will learn how to make the most of your education and expertise to find your place in tech.
What to expect
During the workshop, we will cover four things:
- What does software-driven mean? The workshop will cover how digital services are built and what kinds of roles exist outside programming.
- Where is the community? You will learn about key tech and ICT networks for people to gather, support and learn from each other.
- Where do you start? You will talk about what is worth learning early on and how to avoid the trap of feeling like you need to know everything from the jump.
- How do people actually learn this stuff? Learning does not always require a formal degree or a classroom. In this workshop, you will discover other ways to learn and where to get started.
By the end of the workshop, you will have a better understanding of what kind of expertise and know-how the tech industry is looking for, also beyond programming. Join to discover and define your own journey.
