IHH service point

International House Helsinki (IHH) has a physical service point in Helsinki for people who have recently moved to Finland.

At the service point, newcomers can meet and register with multiple public authorities in one place. You can also visit IHH to get general guidance.

The service point is open on weekdays from 09.00–16.00. Please note that different authorities at IHH have their own opening hours!

International House Helsinki is an official service point where international newcomers can meet and register with different public authorities.

The IHH service point is in Helsinki, next to Pasila railway station. You can get there easily by public transport.

IHH is inside the Pasila office centre (Pasilan virastokeskus in Finnish), together with the Suomi-Piste service point.

IHH shares its location with Suomi-piste, another service point.

In addition to IHH’s services for international newcomers, Suomi-piste also offers services from other public authorities.

Where is International House Helsinki?

IHH is located in Pasila, a central location and transport hub in Helsinki. It is easily accessible by public transportation.

How to get to IHH

By public transport

You can easily get to IHH by tram, bus or train. Find your route to IHH with the HSL journey planner.

The simplest way to get to IHH is through Pasila railway station:

  • Take public transport to Pasila station
  • Go inside Pasila station’s main hall and head towards the east side, near Ratapihantie
  • Find the sign pointing to Office centre, or Virastokeskus in Finnish
  • Follow the sign and cross the covered bridge over Ratapihantie

Cross the bridge from Pasila station to the Pasila office centre.

Stay on the left side of the bridge and go on the Opastinsilta walkway (located outside).

Follow Opastinsilta until you see an International House Helsinki sign to your left. Go down the stairs near the sign to reach the main entrance to IHH.

Accessible entrance to IHH (by lift)

Cross the bridge from Pasila station to the Pasila office centre.

Stay on the right side of the bridge and head inside the Aurinkoraitti lobby (located inside).

Use the lift at the end of the bridge to go to the Aurinkoraitti lobby. Find the sign pointing to International House Helsinki, and use the lifts to go down into IHH on floor K1.

You can also reach IHH via Veturitori from the north or via Opastinsilta from east Pasila.

 

By car

When visiting IHH by car, use the visitor car park on Asemapäällikönkatu 11.

Parking is open on weekdays from 07.30–17.00, and the exit door remains open until 19.00.

After you park, collect a visitor parking permit from the Aurinkoraitti information desk. The permit is valid for up to 4 hours.
