Friend Program Event: SuomiKamu information session
Description
The SuomiKamu information session is part of International House Helsinki’s Friend Program and is organised by the Finnish Red Cross.
The Friend Program offers international newcomers living in the Helsinki area the opportunity to make new friends.
SuomiKamu Friend Activities are designed for people who have recently moved to Helsinki from abroad and are looking for a friend who can help them settle into their new home, practise Finnish language, and learn about local culture.
How SuomiKamu Friend Activities work
Together with your SuomiKamu friend, you can take part in a range of everyday activities such as attending local events, exploring the area, or going for a walk. You will also have the opportunity to practise Finnish together.
Friends decide for themselves what they do and how often they meet. However, we hope participants can commit to the SuomiKamu Friend Activities for six months and meet their friend at least once a month.
To join SuomiKamu activities, you must be at least 18 years old and live in the Helsinki area.
How to join and where to sign up
Join the information session to learn more about the activity. This spring, info sessions will be held once a month from January to April. You can sign up for the February session through the link below at the latest by 23 February.
