Friend Program Event: Spring Outdoor Gathering

Looking to meet new people and build connections in the Helsinki capital region? Join this relaxed and welcoming social event organised by the Helsinki Friends community as part of the International House Helsinki’s Friend Program.

The Friend Program offers international newcomers an opportunity to start making friends and connect with people living in the Helsinki region.

This event brings people together in a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, with opportunities for conversation and shared experiences. Whether recently arrived in Finland or already more familiar with life in the Helsinki region, everyone is warmly welcome.

What to expect

During the event, participants can get to know each other through informal discussions and shared activities. The aim is to create a low-threshold environment where it is easy to meet new people and feel part of a community.

Participants can expect a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, opportunities to meet new people and expand their networks, as well as informal conversations in an inclusive environment open to both internationals and locals.

The programme begins with a short introduction to the activity, followed by a walk together. After the walk, the event continues with social group activities. The event ends with a relaxed picnic and an informal gathering around a campfire, offering time to connect and continue conversations.

The event is open to everyone interested in meeting new people, and no preparation is needed – participants can simply come as they are.

Location: Uutela & Särkkäniemi – Easily accessible from Vuosaari, the area features forest surroundings, coastal scenery, and a campfire site suitable for group activities and a picnic.

Participation is free to attend, but registration is required in advance. Please sign up beforehand on the Helsinki Friends website to secure a spot.
