Does meeting new people and making connections while discovering Helsinki’s beautiful green spaces sound like your thing? If so, join this relaxed social event organised by the Helsinki Friends community.
Helsinki Friends is a part of International House Helsinki’s Friend Program, where international newcomers have an opportunity to connect with others in the Helsinki capital region. The events bring together newcomers and locals, offering a low-threshold opportunity to meet new people and build friendships.
At this event you can expect
- A relaxed walk through some of Helsinki’s most beautiful green areas

- A visit to the beautiful Winter Garden (Talvipuutarha)
- Birdwatching and nature discoveries along the way
- Good conversations in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere
- A chance to explore Helsinki from a different perspective
The walk starts at Töölönlahti with a visit to the beautiful Winter Garden. From there, we’ll walk towards Kaisaniemi, weather permitting, keeping an eye out for birds and enjoying the city along the way. Our green adventure ends at Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden.
While the walk may include discussions about plants, birds, and Finnish nature, the main focus is on enjoying the outdoors, discovering Helsinki from a different perspective, engaging in good conversations, and meeting new people.
No expert knowledge is required. Just bring comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and a curious mind.
