International House Helsinki’s *toll-free housing advice line answers queries twice a week about renting, tenancy and buying. It helps callers find information about schools, daycare facilities and includes guidance on neighbourhoods and commuting services. The housing advice line number is 010 202 4666 and  the service is open on Mondays 8:30–12:30 and Wednesdays 14:00–18:00.

The advice line helps international home seekers with questions about documentation connected to both renting and buying, and gives practical advice about the responsibilities included in tenancy, like recycling. You can also hear how the common facilities are used in apartment buildings, such as sauna and laundry rooms.

Additionally, the line answers questions about public transport connections to different parts of the city. Callers can also get informed about the locality of schools and nurseries in neighbourhoods.

The service particularly takes into account that housing possibilities in Helsinki are diverse, but often, especially the international newcomers do not come across the whole range of information.
